Obituary of Gerald C. Maida

Mount Pleasant, Gerald C. "Ju-Ju" Maida, age 88 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Sunday (12/15) in the Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mr. Maida was born July 16, 1927 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Emanuel and Francesca Cutaia Maida. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Gerry was the owner of Maida Flooring for many years. He was a member of the Assunta Club, where he enjoyed going every Thursday for most of his life. Gerry is survived by his loving family: his children; Gerald E. Maida of State College, Karen S. Maida and Jonathan P. Maida and his wife Misty, all of Mt. Pleasant, and by his grandson, Ronald J. Hause, Jr. Ph.D., of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by his brothers; Dr. Frank V. Maida and his wife Phyllis of Raleigh, NC, Alfonso M. Maida of Mt. Pleasant, and Peter P. Maida of Kecksburg. In addition to his parents, Gerry was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Dawn Zaronsky Maida in August 2014, by his daughter, Kristie Maida Hause in 2004, and by his brother and sisters, Joseph Maida, and Elizabeth Burns and Angeline Koontz. As per the wishes of the family, there will be no hours of public visitation. Private viewing and services will be held for his family, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating.
