Obituary of John Joseph Slaminko

Mount Pleasant, John Joseph "Sonny" Slaminko, age 79 of Mount Pleasant PA, died Tuesday (12/22/15) in Excela Health- Frick Hospital Mount Pleasant, PA. Mr. Slaminko was born November 11, 1936 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late John and Angela Kaczynski Slaminko. Sonny was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, and was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School. Sonny worked as a baker, having worked for the Mt. Pleasant Bakery. He served in the United States Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post 446, and the V.F.W. Post 3368. Sonny is survived by his loving family: His brothers and sisters: Edward Slaminko and Frances of AZ, Michael Slaminko, Thomas Slaminko, Debbie Slaminko, and Sandi Megliorino all of Mt. Pleasant and Frances Buffers of Uniontown. In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his sisters: Cecelia Eutsey in 1980, Patricia Eutsey in 2007, and his brother Daniel Slaminko in 2009. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Sonny Saturday 12/26/15 @2:00 p.m.at the St. Pius X. Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko, officiating. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion #446 and V.F. W.# 3368 in Visitation Church Cemetery.
