Obituary of Joseph J. Polakovsky

Ruffs Dale, Joseph J. Polakovsky, age 52 of RuffsDale, PA, died Sunday (01/17/16) at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Polakovsky was born December 12, 1963 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of Helen Varholla Polakovsky of Mt. Pleasant and the late Andrew Polakovsky. He was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Joe was a 1981 graduate of the Mt. Pleasant Area High School. He had been employed for more than 22 years with the Klocek Burial Vault Co. of Mt. Pleasant. Joe's most favorite times were shared with his family, especially going fishing with them. He was a life member of the Hecla Sportsman's Club, the PA Showman's Association and an active member of the Glass Festival Committee. Joe was a kind and loving husband, father, brother and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Joe is survived by his loving family: his wife of 25 years, Cheri R. Govern Polakovsky, and by his beloved son and daughter; Andrew R. Polakovsky, and Erin A. Polakovsky. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Dr. Andrew Polakovsky and Deeann of Scottdale, Marion Polakovsky and Jacqueline of Tarrs, Christopher Polakovsky and Linda of Mt. Pleasant, Ann Geyer and Melvin, and Caroline Palanko, all of Mt. Pleasant, and by his brothers and sister in law: Rick Govern and Karen, Randy Govern and Pam, Rob Govern and Heather, and Patty Majercak. In addition to his father, who died in 2003, Joe was preceded in death by his father and mother in law; Raymond and Kathleen Lacey Govern, and by his brothers in law; Raymond, Ronald, and Regis Govern. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Thursday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by Joe's Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
