Obituary of Charles Conner Kalp
Mount Pleasant, Charles Conner Kalp, age 87 of Mount Pleasant, PA, went to be with his Lord Sunday (2/7/16) at the Amber House at Harmon House , while surrounded by his loving family .
Mr. Kalp was born Jan. 30, 1929 in Ruffs Dale, PA, the son of the late O. Weimer and Polly Ringler Kalp. He was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church. Charlie was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the United States Navy. He worked for many years as a mechanic for M & G Trucking Co., and after retiring, he worked as a mechanic for the Klocek Burial Vault Co., retiring from there when he was 80 years old. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446, and a life member of the Hecla Sportsmans Club. Charlie loved working in his garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all spending time with his family. "Pap" will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his loving family: his wife of 65 years, Nancy Jane Nemesek Kalp; his devoted daughter, Cheryl Kalp Wadsworth and her husband Wayne of Mt. Pleasant, his adoring grandchildren; Ashley Wadsworth Quinn and her husband Ryan, and Matt Wadsworth and his wife Alees, and by his great grandchildren; Addie and Logan Quinn, and Brock and Ensley Wadsworth and baby Wadsworth on the way. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, James Kalp and by his sisters; Betty Cramer, Roberta Baker and Lois Haas.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 4 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant. Additional viewing will be held in the funeral home Tuesday from 10 AM until 11AM, the time of his funeral service, with his pastor the Rev. Randy Landman officiating.
Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, 645 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, in memory of Charles C. Kalp. His memory will live on forever.
