Obituary of Janie M. Good

Mount Pleasant, Janie M. (Knopsnider) Good, age 58 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Tuesday (03/22/16) in Excela-Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA. Mrs. Good was born February 23, 1958 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Harold and Dolores Eutsey Knopsnider. She is a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Janie formerly worked for AVI Food Systems as a branch secretary, for Kraisinger's Market and for K-Mart. She was a former officer of the Mt. Pleasant Band Boosters; a very active member always involved with band trips, and fund raising activities. Janie was an Honorary Life Member of Mt. Pleasant EMS-Medic 10, always volunteering and doing so many things to help the organization. She loved baking with her baking partner, Stephanie, and also enjoyed cooking and canning with her family and especially making pierogis and holiday treats. Janie especially enjoyed family activities and traveling and spending time with family and friends. Her friendship, her smile, and her sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure and the honor to have known her. Janie is survived by her loving family: her husband of 31 years, Donald D. Good and by her beloved daughter, Stephanie Ann Good. She is also survived by her brother and sisters; Delbert Knopsnider and his wife Sherri of White, Bonnie Kozak and her husband Marshall Wayne of Scottdale, Joyce Mowry and her husband Delbert, and Debbie Potosky and her husband Mark, all of Mt. Pleasant. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 5 until 8 PM and Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 9:30AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Visitation Church in memory of Janie M. Good.
