Obituary of Kimberly A. (Schnupp) Proud

Loyalhanna, Kimberly A. (Schnupp) Proud, age 57 of Loyalhanna, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at her home. Kim Proud was born September 7, 1959 in Greensburg, PA, the daughter of Richard "Dick" and Edythe "Bonnie" (Thomas) Schnupp of New Stanton. Kim was a 1977 graduate of Hempfield High School, and received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She later studied at Magee Hospital, became a certified Cytologist and was employed by Excela Health, Frick and Latrobe Hospitals. Kim was very artistic. She enjoyed painting, photography, gardening and all outdoor activities, especially those that involved lakes and streams. She was an active member of the Mt. Pleasant Garden Club, and the Scottdale Art Club where she held several leadership positions. She was also an avid Penguins Fan. Kim is survived by her loving family: her parents, Dick and Bonnie Schnupp; her beloved children, Daniel Nathan Proud and his wife Louise Keegan of Boone, NC, Nicole Danielle Proud of Burlington, VT, and Shane Thomas Proud of Youngwood, and their father Daniel J. Proud of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Mary E. Thomas of New Stanton, her sisters, Tammy (and husband Don) Johnson of New Stanton and Diane (and husband Tim) Bartels of Greensburg, and by her Journey Companion, Dave Deglau, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 1 until 5 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Additional viewing will be held Monday from 11 AM until 12-Noon, the time of her funeral service, in the Harrold Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 671 Baltzer Meyer Pike, Greensburg, PA 15601, with the Rev. John M. Smaligo officiating.
