I feel so sad! All these years have passed and I just learned of Mr. Minnick's passing. He was such a strong man. He was always supervising us students in the weight room and offering counsel. Mr. Minnick was so cool and approachable. I'm so sorry for the family's loss. I had to write a biography on my childhood hero for one of Mr. Minnick's assignments, and I wanted to do it on Chris Farley. Mr. Minnick insisted on changing my assignment John Candy because of lifestyle choices... I'm sorry if this is too much but I held Mr. Minnick in such high regard.

I met Brian on the Shaft Cardinals midget football team and then graduated with Brian at Mount Pleasant High school. He always had a smile on his face, laughing and just loved life. When we graduated we lost touch, i moved to California for the military and started my professional fight career. We met back up at our 10 year school reunion and kept in touch with the awesome facebook. When i saw that he passed away i couldn't believe it. my first thought was that it was a joke. I'm saddened to lose my friend. my condolences to his family. I'm at a total lost for words. But I hope all will remember Brian how he lived his life, the world would be a better place if more lived their lives like Brian did. be true to yourself and live life to the fullest!! R.I.P my friend Brian. Your print is on everybody you ever met in this world and you will never be forgotten.

I taught at GSMS with Brian and always felt a bit motherly towards him. His smile was genuine and contagious and I loved teasing him. While he was at the high school, I would go into his middle school classroom and move just a few things out of place in his perfectly organized space. He always knew it was me and just a fun game we shared. It was painful to read or hear about his struggles because I knew him to be a good person. My heart also goes out to his dad, Rick, whom I taught with at GSMS. Brian was his life and I cannot imagine the pain he has felt through these difficult years. Hopefully, the many happy memories you share with Brian will bring you peace.

Two of my daughter's had Mr. MInick. My middle daughter had him about 8 years ago and my youngest is graduating this year has also had him. Mr Minick is one of those teachers your kids come home and talk great things about. He was the kind of teacher all teachers should be. You could tell he loved his job and his students. He was a kind, fair, loving, smart, strong, caring, and sincere man. His parents did a wonderful job raising a wonderful young man and teacher. I wish there were more of him out there. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. God bless you all.

Mr. Minick helped shape my life in various ways. Throughout highschool, he was not only a teacher and a mentor, but also a friend. Whenever I became involved in weight lifting, his words of encouragement and advice stuck with me and still do to this day. The belief of working hard, whether it was in the weight room or in the class room was something entailed into myself and many other students by Mr. Minick. His smile and great sense of humor could lighten up any room. Thank you for being a part of my life and believing in me when others wouldn't, my prayers are with you and the rest of your family.
