Obituary of Nikki Ann Tamblyn

Nikki Ann (DeSantis) Tamblyn , age 72 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Saturday, (08/28/2021) in the Excela-Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA. Mrs. Tamblyn was born June 9, 1949 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Carmen and Lucille Santore DeSantis. She was an active member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Nikki was a 1967 graduate of Southmoreland High School and earned her degree in 1971 from Fairmont State University, Fairmont, West Virginia. She was a teacher for 35 years with the Mount Pleasant Area School District. Most of her teaching career was spent with the 4th graders at Rumbaugh and Ramsay Elementary Schools. Nikki touched countless lives through her teaching and inspired many of her former students to pursue careers in Education, particularly teaching. She was an active member of her Church and the Christian Mothers and enjoyed helping with the Lenten Dinners. Nikki was also a member of the Friends of the Library with the Mount Pleasant Library. An avid reader herself, she helped support and sponsor many events and benefits for the library. She also was a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Drives. Nikki loved discovering new recipes, trying out new restaurants, traveling, shopping or going to the movies with friends, spoiling her two dogs and doing anything that involved spending time with her family. She was famous for her delicious pizzelles, using a recipe that had been handed down from her mother. Nikki was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her and working with her. She is survived by her loving family: her husband of 50 years, Michael P. Tamblyn, her daughters, Carmen Marie (Michael) Corsi of Ashburn, VA and Jodi Ann (Brian) Janosko of Falls Church, VA and by her beloved grandchildren, Dylan Michael Corsi and Giada Marie Corsi. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Thursday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by Nikki’s Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant. Private Inurnment will be in the St Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
