Obituary of Joseph L. Conty

Joseph L. Conty Sr., age 78 of Wooddale, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in the Excela-Health Westmoreland Hospital. Mr. Conty was born July 24, 1943 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Philip and Helen Dorich Conty. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Joe was a 1961 graduate of the former East Huntington High School. He had worked for the L E Smith Glass Company in Mt. Pleasant for over 41 years and JK County Market for 7 years. Joe was known for the special pizza he made because of his sweet and tangy pizza sauce. He loved sharing it with his family and his friends at the Shaft Club. Sadly, Joe took the recipe with him. He is survived by his loving family; the love of his life, Jeannie Farrah Conty, wife of 46 years, his children, Anna Marie Conty Moats and Joseph L. Conty Jr. and by his adoring grandchildren, Cassandra, Vanessa, and Zachary Moats. Joe is also survived by his brother and sisters, Ronald Conty (Jane), Mary Catherine Camptella, Betty Conty, Romaine Janicki, and by his sisters in law, Irene Conty, Maryann Farrah,Patty Farrah, Judy Farrah, Ruthie Farrah, and Susie Farrah, his Godson and special nephew, Tony Conty, his special niece, Mary Catherine Janicki and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Philip and John Conty, and brothers in law James Camptella and Ted Janicki. Family and friends are invited to attend Joe's funeral mass on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 11 AM at Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, 740 Walnut St., Mt. Pleasant.
