Obituary of Sonia M. Kaputa

Sonia M. Kaputa, 94 of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday April 14, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  Sonia was born January 27, 1929 in Star Junction, PA to the late Michael and Helen Stoffa Besida.

Mrs. Kaputa was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Frazier High School and the last graduating class from Frick Hospital School of Nursing. Sonia worked at Frick Hospital for over 30 years, and for the last 10 years she was the director of nursing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, her great-grandson Jacob, and her dog Casey.

Sonia is survived by her loving children, Jill Como (Neil), and James and Robert Kaputa; her loving grandchildren, Leah Hostetler (Corey), and Lauren and Lindsey Kaputa; her adoring great-grandson, Jacob Flesse; and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael P. Kaputa Jr. in 2020; and her sister, Shirley Craska.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass for Sonia on Wednesday April 19th at 12:00 PM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant.
