Obituary of Ronald Thomas Govern
Mt. Pleasant, Ronald Thomas Govern, age 53 of Mount Pleasant, PA died unexpectedly on
Saturday, August 20, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Govern was born March 15, 1958 in Mount Pleasant, the son of the late Raymond and Kathleen
Lacey Govern. Ron graduated from the Mount Pleasant Area High School in I 977.He worked as an
assembler for the A-Liner Company of Kecksburg. Previously, he had worked for most of his life
for the former C&C Company of Tarrs. Ron enjoyed woodworking and building model cars. He
was also an avid NASCAR Fan. He loved spending time at the family camp at High Point Lake,
where he enjoyed fishing and camping and spending time with his family.
Ron was a very loving and caring father to his two daughters, and was looking forward to the birth
of Sarah's child, his first grandchild.
Ron is survived by his loving family: his daughters, Lacey Rae Govern Weir and her husband
Timothy, and Sarah Govern, and by his wife, Darlene Peterson Govern, all of Mount Pleasant. He is
also survived by his brothers: Richard Govern and Karen of Hecla, Randy Govern and Pam of
Ruffsdale, Robin Govern and Heather of Laurelville, and by his sisters; Patty Majercak of Mount
Pleasant, and Cheryl Polakovsky and Joseph of Ruffsdale, and numerous nieces and nephews, and
great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brothers,
Regis in 1984 and Raymond in 2006.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso
Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Ron's Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday
at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home with the Reverand Richard J. Kosisko officiating.
Final Inurnment will be private.
