Obituary of Gregory P. Petro

Gregory P. Petro, 59, of Mt. Pleasant died Tuesday October 10, 2023 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  Greg was born September 28, 1964 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Steven and Florence E. Rogacki Petro. 

Greg was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School class of 1982 and he went on to receive his electronics degree from Devry Institute of Technology.  Greg was currently working for Menasha Packaging Company.  He was a member of the Polish Falcons Nest, Assunta Club, Shaft Club, and Hecla Fireman’s Club.  Greg loved to be out socializing with his many friends.

Greg is survived by his loving family, his brother, James Petro (Janette); his sister-in-law, Cheryl Petro; his nephew and godson, Matthew Petro; his nephew, Alexander Petro; his niece, Natalie Petro (Travis); his dear loving friend, Shirley Hodgkiss; and by his godson, Zachary Kowalewski.  In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his fiancée, Myra Hann; and his brother, Stephen Petro. 

Family and friends are invited on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St. Mt. Pleasant.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Bane officiating.  Interment will follow in Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mt.
