Obituary of Ronald E. Nichols

Ronald E. Nichols, 82, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully Wednesday November 15, 2023 at Scottdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born March 10, 1941 in Mt. Pleasant to the late George E. Nichols (Irene) and Evelene McConnell Harrold.

He was employed as a mechanic in his early years for Hermie Caruso.  Ronald was then employed at Christy Park in McKeesport, National Tube in McKeesport, Homestead Steel Works, and at Demos Stupis Home Builders of New Stanton as a framing and trim carpenter.  Ron loved fishing, hunting, country music, and watching football. 

Ronald is survived by his loving family, his children, Greg Nichols, Tammy Nichols Crosby, and Monty Nichols Crosby; his grandson, Brandon Nichols; his sister and care giver, Joanie DeFilippo (Ron); his brother, Robert Nichols (Shirley); his nieces and nephew, Kathy Blaine, Marcy Ogrinc (Moe), and Doug Nichols (Terry); his many great-nieces and nephews; and his faithful cat, Bella.  In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Nichols Crosby; and his nephews, Bobby Gratzinger and Marc Blaine.   

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home 204 Eagle St. Mt.
