Obituary of Tatsuko DeCarlo

Tatsuko DeCarlo, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday November 22, 2023 at her residence with her loving husband by her side.  Mrs. DeCarlo was born March 6, 1935 in Japan.

Mrs. DeCarlo was a faithful member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant.  She volunteered for many years in the cafeteria at St. Pius School.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Tatsuko is survived by her loving family, her husband of 60 years, Leonard D. DeCarlo; her children, Phillip DeCarlo Sr., Shirley Sofranko (Bob), and Nancy Packe (Eric); her grandchildren, Jillian Breakiron (Eric), Justin DeCarlo, Phillip DeCarlo Jr., Morgan Shimko (Zack), Jack Packe, and Chad Packe; her great-grandson, Hunter Breakiron; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Francis and Mary DeCarlo.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle St. Mt. Pleasant.  A blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  Interment in St. Pius X Parish Cemetery will follow.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to  Allegheny Healthcare & Hospice, especially Molly and Alisha, and Twin Oaks Home Care, especially Kylee, for their wonderful care of Tatsuko.  To offer an online condolence please visit our website at www.galone-carusofuneralhome.com
