Obituary of Dorothy J. Koval

Dorothy J. Koval, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday January 17, 2024 in Westmoreland Manor. Mrs. Koval was born May 19, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Stanley and Anna Pinkosky Mientus.

Dorothy was a member of the former Transfiguration Parish and a current member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was a graduate of Ramsay High School class of 1954. After high school Dorothy went to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI, before she got married. Dorothy also worked for State Representative Jess Stairs as a secretary.

Dorothy is survived by her loving family, her children, Stephen Koval, Karen Koval (Matt Mulvihill), and Mark Koval (Angela); her grandchildren, Alex Koval (Lauren), Megan Milbury (Ben), and Ryan Koval; and by her sister, Debra Arlotta (Vince). In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel G. Koval; and her sister, Donna Ludvigson.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 1:00 until the hour of Dorothy's Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St. Mt. Pleasant. A private interment will take place in Transfiguration Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association, in loving memory of Dorothy J. Koval.
