Obituary of Helen Dianne Lint

Helen Dianne Lint (Stoner) passed away on Saturday, March 16, at the age of 77. While many people had special names for her, such as “Granny”, “Lady Di”, or “Sweetheart Diney”, only one person was permitted to call her Helen, and she will be greeted by him at the pearly gates. Everyone else was to refer to her as “Dianne”, with two n's. Dianne is now at peace with her husband Chuck who preceded her in death in 2007. She is survived by three daughters (Wendy, Tracey, and Julie), four grandchildren (Danielle, Chuck, Chase, and Miles), three great-grandchildren (Raelee, Vincenzo, and Bianca), her beloved niece “Ben”, son-in-law Mike, whom she affectionately referred to as “my sweetie”, and three siblings (Frank, Deb, and Dave). Dianne was a former employee of Montgomery Ward Telemarketing and Dick’s Sporting Goods Distribution Center.

Dianne had a short bucket list that included playing bingo, seeing the Toys for Tots train, and to live out her remaining days as “Thelma” to her daughter Tracey’s “Louise”. No money may have been won at bingo, but there was much laughter, many sideways glances, and more than a few “shhhh’s” from the serious bingo players. “Louise” was always ready because “Thelma” didn’t have a filter, and you’d never knew what might come out of Dianne’s mouth when in public. She had “that Stoner blood” in her and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, and she didn’t much care who liked it or not. While she didn’t get to see the train in person due to not feeling well, her family ensured that she experienced it live through video.

Dianne enjoyed crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, and “tinkering” in the yard. She liked to draw and make beautiful crocheted gifts such as ornaments, doilies, and tablecloths. She found great pleasure in making hard tack candy and baking homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, and pies to share with family and friends. If she shared with you, you touched her heart in some way. She always said she didn’t have much, but it made her feel valuable to share what she could. She also loved to sew, making her grandchildren many stuffed animals and costumes over the years.

Dianne’s most precious moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was especially excited to watch her “two boys” and “her babe” graduate this year; she will have the best seat in the house. Dianne loved reading with Cenzo and Bianca, baking cookies for Chase, and making Miles home-made french fries after school. She lived out her remaining days with her “babe”, “sweetie”, and “two boys” by her side.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle St., Mt.
