Obituary of John L. Massaro

John L. Massaro, 81, of Bear Rocks formerly of Monroeville, passed away Saturday June 22, 2024 at his residence.  Mr. Massaro was born November 9, 1942 in Pittsburgh to the late John and Bertha Piccolino Massaro. 

John was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant.  He was a graduate of Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School class of 1960 and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.  John enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports, watching the Pirates, Steelers, Penguins, and Panthers, making friends, and most of all spending time with his loving family.

John is survived by his loving family, his wife of 59 years, Theresa Ausefski Massaro; his daughters, Susan Massaro (Russ), and Christine Rapp (Bryan); his grandchildren, Mia Harris (Gino), Zachary Rapp, Tyler Hughes, Madison Rapp, and McKenzie Rapp; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings, Dr. Joseph Massaro, and Barbara Proviano.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant.  A blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. followed by his funeral mass at 11:00 at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to be made to St. Anthony School Program, 2000 Corporate Dr. Ste. 580, Wexford, PA 15090 in loving memory of John L.
