Obituary of Mary Alice Hammond Kaczmarek

Scottdale, Mary Alice Hammond Kaczmarek, age 69 of Scottdale, PA, died Tuesday (10/18/2011) in UPMC-Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, PA. Mrs. Kaczmarek was born September 16, 1942 in Pleasant Unity, PA, the daughter of the late Charles Woodrow and Gladys Mae Cole Hammond. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. Mary Alice was a 1960 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. She had worked for the former Acme Store, the former Gallatin National Bank, and had been the manager of the former Wilson's Store in Greenburg for over 17 years. Mary Alice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A very reserved lady, her family was the most important part of her life. Mary Alice is survived by her loving family, her husband of 50 years, Michael J. Kaczmarek, her children: Michael D. Kaczmarek and his wife Kimberly of Greensburg, Mary Beth Czerniak and her husband David, and M. Scott Kaczmarek and his wife Linda, all of Mt. Pleasant, and J. Andrew Kaczmarek and his wife Lori of New Stanton. She will be greatly missed by her beloved grandchildren; Courtney and Christopher Kaczmarek, Luke and Lauren Czerniak and Brook and Kinley Kaczmarek. Mary Alice is also survived by her brother, David Hammond and his wife Jacqueline of Washington, PA. Friends and family will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Mary Alice's Funeral Service will be held Friday in the Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Private Inurnment will be in The Middle Presbyterian Cemetery Columbarium.
