Obituary of Kathleen J. Overly

Kathleen J. “Kathie” Overly, 76, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday October 22, 2024 at Harmon House Healthcare & Rehab Center.  Ms. Overly was born April 17, 1948 in Greensburg to the late Paul and Dorothy Olmer Leighty.

Kathie was a graduate of Southmoreland High School class of 1966 and Durbin’s Secretarial School.  She worked at Walworth’s in Greensburg and the Westmoreland County Blind Association.  Kathie enjoyed painting bird houses and every cat that she met.

Kathie is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Jennifer Warrington; her grandchildren, Ashley Warrington, Zachary Warrington, and Madison Warrington; her sister, Cindy Kozar (Bob); her nephews, Jeffrey Henry (Michelle) and Patrick Henry (Heather); and numerous great nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Kathie was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Edward Gruber; her brother, Paul A. Leighty; and by her sister, Rebecca Henry.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant, where the Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev.
