Obituary of Margaret Jane Dropik

Mount Pleasant, Margaret J. "Peggy" Dropik, age 73 of Mount Pleasant PA, died Tuesday (12/13/2011) in Excela-Health Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Mrs. Dropik was born November 30, 1938 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Melvin and Catherine Long Pence. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Peggy was a 1956 graduate of the former Hurst High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Union Apparel Company as a sewing machine operator. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and her friends. She is survived by her loving family: her children; Melonie J. Dropik, Michael F. Dropik and Cathy, Beth M. O'Neal and Mike, and Barbara R. Dropik, all of Mt. Pleasant. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren: Nikia M. Dropik, Michael F. Dropik III, Leigha C. Dropik, Jeanine M. O'Neal, Christina L. O'Neal, K. Michael O'Neal, Jr. and Steven J. O'Neal and by her beloved great granddaughter, Marrissa M. Dropik. Peggy is also survived by her brother,Melvin R. Pence, Jr. of Elyria, OH, and by her sister, Marilyn Gray and Clarence of Mammoth, WV. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Frank Dropik, Sr. in 1984. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Friday at 9:30AM in the funeral home, followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in St. Pius X R.C. Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Private Inurnment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A Parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Thursday @3PM.
