Obituary of Agnes M. Burns

Mount Pleasant, Agnes M. "Aggie" Minick Burns, age 87 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday (01/02/2012) in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mrs. Burns was born October 14, 1924 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Solnia Kvasnak (Quasnak) Minick. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Agnes was a 1943 graduate of the former Hurst High School, and then had worked for Union Apparel for over 20 years. Aggie was a lifelong resident of the Mt. Pleasant Area and was an avid sports fan and especially loved watching the Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Aggie is survived by her loving family: Her children; William C. Burns and his wife Janet of St. Paul, MN, Robert E. Burns and his wife Cherylyn of Mt. Laurel, NJ, John J. Burns of Mt. Pleasant and Kathy A. Martin and her husband Kevin of Wooddale, and by her beloved grandchildren; Erin Burns, Jacob Burns, Amy Burns, Maggie Burns, Kate Martin, Jackson Burns and Zachary Martin. She is also survived by her brother Charles Minick of Cohley, GA. In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Burns in 1992, and by her brothers, John and Joseph Minick. Family and Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday @9:30AM followed by her 10:00AM Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, PA with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A Parish Wake service will be held in the funeral home Friday @3PM.
