Obituary of Martha Marcell Mardis Springer

Mount Pleasant, Martha Marcell Mardis Springer, age 88 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Friday (02/24/2012) in the Jo Ella's Personal Care Home, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mrs. Springer was born April 29, 1923 in Bedford County, PA, the daughter of the late Luverne and Helen Rinard Mardis. She was a member of the former Wesley United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. Martha had worked for Frick Hospital in the housekeeping department for many years. She was an active member of the Bullskin Twp. Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Martha is survived by her loving family: her brothers and sisters; Robert W. Mardis and his wife Carole of Lancaster, John D. Mardis, and Larry K. Mardis and his wife Patricia all of Scottdale, Dortha Maxine Brooks of Stafford, VA and Beverly R. Hatter of VA, her brothers and sisters-in-law; Charles Springer and his wife Kay of Mt. Pleasant, Sally Ahrens and her husband John of Ruffsdale, and Judith Springer of Donegal. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband Ralph K. Springer in 2000, and by her brothers; Frelin W., W. Glenn, Thomas G. and Infant Donald Mardis, and by her sister; Louise C. Mardis. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 1 until 4 PM the time of her funeral service at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev.
