Obituary of Robert E. Glover, Sr.

Derry, Robert E. Glover, Sr., age 55 of Derry PA, died Saturday (6/9/12) at his home. Mr. Glover was born March 26, 1957 in Belle Vernon, PA, the son of the late Pierson Vaughn and Betty Isabel Miller Glover. Bob was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Independence. He had a passion for Civil War Reenactments where his character was "Captain John Huston", and as a Cowboy Competition Shootist for the River Junction Shootist Society of Donegal, where he won several awards as a duelist. Bob was also very active in Community Days where he taught firearm safety to children. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post #49 of Derry. He is survived by his loving family: his significant other of 9 years, Elaine Echard, his children; Robert E, Glover, Jr and Heather of Perryopolis, and Stacey Glover of Scottdale, his grandchildren; Isabella, Autumn and Michael, and by Elaine's children and grandchildren; Kevin Echard and Lisa of Jeannette, Dana Echard and Brad of Greensburg, and Derek Echard and Crystal of Stahlstown, Cody and Chelsea. Bob is also survived by his sisters and brothers; Virginia Holtschneider and George of Oakland, MD, Linda Murphy and Dennis of Alachua, FL, Martha Wentzell of Mt. Pleasant, Samantha Parks and Mike of York, Marvin Glover and Dayna of BelleVernon, and Charles McIntire and Donna of TN. , Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 11:00AM until 1:00PM, the time of Bob's Funeral Service, at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, PA with the Rev. Reed Moore officiating. Interment with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the St. John's Reformed Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township.
