Obituary of Angelo Dominic Fontanazza, Sr.

Mount Pleasant, Angelo Dominic Fontanazza, age 92 of Mt. Pleasant, PA, died Monday (7/23/2012) in Excela Health- Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Mr. Fontanazza was born February 4, 1920 in Old Bethany, PA, the son of the late Samuel and Laboria Tabita Fontanazza. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Angelo retired with 30 years of service from US Steel in 1981. He and his late wife Clara loved to travel in their motor home. They visited every state except Alaska and Hawaii, and enjoyed their winters in Florida. He is survived by his loving family: his children; Barbara Pospisil and Lawrence of Acme, Mario Fontanazza and Mary and Angelo Fontanazza, Jr. and Denise, all of Mt. Pleasant, Steven Fontanazza and Terri of Greensburg, Samuel Fontanazza and Roxanne of Mt. Pleasant and Michael Fontanazza and Paula of New Stanton,his sixteen Grandchildren; Larry (Judy) Pospisil, Christine (Tim) Bureau, Annamarie (Don) Ament, William Pospisil and Pam Piper, Mario Jr. (Sue) Fontanazza,Gina (Brian) Cunningham, Angelo III (Jaime) Fontanazza, Anthony (Melany) Fontanazza, Andrea (Paul) Peterson, Adam Fontanazza and Kate Grogan, Melissa (Don) Daugherty, Steve Jr. (Stephanie) Fontanazza, Matthew Fontanazza, Mike, Michelle, Dominic and Alexis Fontanazza, two Step Granchildren, Christofer and Lisa Errett, twenty Great Grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Angelo is also survived by his brother; Marion "Mutt" Fontanazza of Mt. Pleasant, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Angelo was also preceded in death by his wife; Clara Ostrosky Fontanazza in 2001, his infant daughter Maria Fontanazza in 1968, and his brother; Michael "Mickey" Fontanazza in 1988 and his sister; Mary Lombardy in 2011. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Angelo's Funeral Service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Interment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
