Obituary of Richard L. Cunningham

Mount Pleasant, Richard L. Cunningham, age 72 of Mount Pleasant PA, died Thursday (8/19/10) in Jeannette Hospice At Jeanette Hospital. Mr. Cunningham was born August 15, 1938 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Charles and Mable Cooper Cunningham. Graduate of the former Ramsay H.S. Class of 1956. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years. Life Member of the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department. Served on Borough Council for 8 years having served four years as president. Had served as Deputy Sheriff under Sheriff Rege Kelly. Was a five times Past Exalted Ruler for the former Mt. Pleasant Elks Lodge #868. Rich as a member life member of Bridgeport Sportsmans Club, Scottdale Elks #777. He is survived by his loving family; his sons, Richard J. Cunningham and Scott E. Cunningham and his granddaughter and best girlfriend: Nicole Rachael Cunningham. His brothers and sister; Donald C. Cunningham and his wife Cathy, Rev. Charles W. Cunningham and his wife Peggy and his sister Patricia L. Cunningham McCormack. Numerous nieces and nephews, and his special hunting buddy Jeff Cunningham. And his special friends, Jeff and Mary Stefl, Anthony (Shoe) Sansone. In addition to his parents, Rich was also preceded in death by his high school sweat heart, Joan Parfitt Cunningham in January of 2010. , Family and friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm and from at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home 204 Eagle street Mount Pleasant. Additional viewing will be held Sunday from 2:30 until 3:30PM the time of his funeral service in the funeral homet, with the Rev. Mark E. Peachey officiating. Inurnment will be private.
