Obituary of Jack Lee Barr

Mount Pleasant, Jack Lee Barr, age 66 of Mount Pleasant PA, died Sunday (8/15/10) at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Barr was born May 22, 1944 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Jack and Nadine Kantorik Barr. Jack was a graduate of the former Hurst High School with the class of 1962. He was employed by the Menasha Corp. as a shipper for 34 years. He was a member of the Shaft Club and of the Kosciuszko Club, where he had served as President. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and Steeler fan. Jack enjoyed life to its fullest. His zest for life, his wit and his unending sense of humor made him a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 34 years, Cheryl R. Martz Barr, by his children; Bryan J. Barr , Jason N. Barr and his sister Misty Barr, all of Mt. Pleasant., and by his beautiful granddaughters; Shayna, Shyanne, Haylee and Madalynn Barr. Jack is also survived by his daughter-in-law Jodi Barr and by his sister, Joyce Francis all of Mt. Pleasant, by his Brothers and Sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey, September 26, 1999. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 until 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Dale L. Porterfield officiating. Private Inurnment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
