Obituary of Marilyn Sue Covert Berg

Mount Pleasant, Marilyn Sue Covert Berg, age 78 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Wednesday (3/06/13) in Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe, PA. Mrs. Berg was born May 30, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Ernest and Mabel Poorbaugh Covert. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant, and former member of the church choir. Sue was a 1952 graduate of the former Ramsay High School, and a 1955 graduate of the former Greensburg Hospital School of Nursing. Sue worked as a Registered Nurse for the former Greensburg Hospital in the Nursery, and also worked with the Red Cross Blood Bank. Sue was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving family: her children, Tamara Sue Berg and David Panza of Somerset, and Timothy Lee Berg of Mt. Pleasant, and by her beloved granddaughter, Audrey Lauren Berg. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Lee Covert and his wife Virginia "Ginger" of Mt. Pleasant, and her sisters-in-law, Dolores Covert of Knoxville, TN and Gloria Covert of Culpeper, VA. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her brothers Ernest "Jug" Covert and Ralph Richard Covert. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Sue will be held Monday at 11:30 AM in the funeral home with the Rev. J. Timothy Hoover and the Rev. Bonnie King co- officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Jacobs Creek Faith in Action, 508 S. Church St., Suite 3456 Mt.
