Obituary of Betty Ann Hardesty DeMuth

Scottdale, Betty Ann Hardesty DeMuth, age 89 of Scottdale, PA, died Sunday (8/4/2013) in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mrs. DeMuth was born March 21, 1924 in Akron, OH, the daughter of the late Frederick and Annett Johnston Hardesty. Betty was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She cared for her father and mother, and devoted herself to the care of her late husband Herbert during his illness. Betty lived to love and serve her family. She is survived by her loving family: her children; Joseph DeMuth and his wife Patricia of Huron, OH, William DeMuth of Seattle, WA, James DeMuth and his wife Nancy of Greensburg, Marie Louise "Ditzie" Whitehead and her husband Wes of Santa Clara, UT, Mary Jane "Phoebe" Hovanec and her husband Terry of Scottdale, and Herbert J. DeMuth of Melbourne, FL. She will be sadly missed by her beloved grandchildren: Wes Jr., Sara, Brad, Jim, Jackie, Katie, Mandy, Mike and Dan, and by her great grandchildren; Ian, A.J., Allie, Anna, and Benjamin. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Herbert N. DeMuth in 2007. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Betty will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Landman officiating.
