Obituary of Wilma M. Hoke Landymore

Connellsville, Wilma Mognet "Jiggs" Hoke Landymore, age 94 of Connellsville, PA, formerly of Acme, PA died Sunday (9/8/13) in Lint's Personal Care Home, Connellsville, PA. Mrs. Landymore was born September 29, 1918 in Somerset County, PA, the daughter of the late O. Perry and Ruth Baker Mognet. She was Lutheran by faith. Jiggs was a 1937 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. She had been employed by the former Bryce Brothers Glass Company, and then worked with her late husband, Leon R. Hoke as a representative of the Nationwide Insurance Company of Columbus, OH. After his death in 1974, she took over the agency, completing 35 years in the Hoke Family business when she retired in 1989. Jiggs was a former member of Pleasant Valley Country Club where she was an avid golfer. She is survived by her loving family: her husband of 34 years, Robert S. Landymore, her son, Leon R. Hoke, Jr. and his wife Teresa and her daughter, Judith Hoke Roarty and her husband Michael J., all of Tampa, FL, her Step Daughters; Rhonda Landymore of Scottdale, and Susan McFadden of MD, and by her grandchildren; Mary Jean Kopakin and her husband Brian, Mark and Kevin Roarty, Robert Hone, Eric McFadden, and Justin Bittinger, and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters in law; Jackie Hoke, Mary Hoke, Patricia Brothers, and Lois Bitner, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jiggs was preceded in death by her husband, Leon R. Hoke, Sr. in May of 1974, and her grandson, Robert Roarty. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 6 until 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Mrs. Landymore will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith A. Deckinger, officiating.
