Obituary of Eileen Grace Cunnard Kowinsky

Tarrs, Eileen Grace Cunnard Kowinsky, age 78 of Tarrs, PA, died Saturday (9/21/2013) in Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, PA. Mrs. Kowinsky was born December 15, 1934 in Tarrs, PA, the daughter of the late John and Lydia Smith Cunnard. Mrs. Kowinsky was a member of the Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church of Tarrs. She was a graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School. Eileen was a seamstress for most of her life and had worked at the AMCO Sewing Factory in Norvelt, and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Union #424 & 445. She had also been employed by the former Volkswagen of America in New Stanton. Eileen retired from the custodial department of the Southmoreland School District. In 1996 Eileen decided to continue her education at the Westmoreland County Community College where she received her degree as a Para Legal. She enjoyed gardening and working outside in her yard and loved doing craft work. Eileen was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Eileen is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Deborah A. Rogers, her grandson, James Rogers, Jr., both of Tarrs her sister, Dorothy Cunnard White of Jones Mills and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her granddaughter; Misty Lee Rogers in 2005 and her brothers and sisters: Leroy, David, Walter, William, John Jr. and an infant brother; Anna, Evelyn, Alice, Edith, Edna, Rachael, Leona, and Margaret. She was also preceded in death by her longtime companion, Joseph Jones. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Eileen will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with her Pastor the Rev. Ralph A. Mostoller officiating.
