When I think about my "Pappy" I remember the trout fishing, deer hunting, and all the great stories he had to tell throughout his life. He told the best stories and jokes. He always had a new recipe that he wanted us to taste. I could write a book about all the great memories I have of him. I know that he is with his mom, dad, uncle Jay, Uncle Bill, Aunt Betty, and his daughter Aunt Rhonda and the rest of his heavenly family. I will carry his memory with me always! Love you Pappy! Tell Grandpap that I said Hi!

Growing up around Uncle Ray was special. He was full of personality, and always wanted to share his latest recipe. He will be sadly missed.

One of the last things we said to each other was "Remember the great times we had." The truth is, great times are all the memories I have of him! When my mom told me "Pap is gone," of course I was upset, but then I thought about it. While his spirit is gone, he is still present. With every interaction with his children, with every cast of a fishing line, with every attempt I make to bake something and with every joke I tell, he is present. I know that he's proud of me for the man I am today. Thank you, Pappy, for being a teacher, supporter and friend.
