Obituary of Frances Marie Pernatozzi Buffers

Mount Pleasant, Frances Marie Pernatozzi Buffers, age 99 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Thursday (12/19/13) in the Excela Health- Frick Hospital. Mrs. Buffers was born February 16, 1914 in Connellsville, PA, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary LaPorte Pernatozzi. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of the former Dunbar Township High School. Frances was an avid reader, a devoted Steeler and Pirate fan, and also enjoyed watching college football, and going to the casino's. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Frances is survived by her loving family: her son, Joseph A. Buffers and his wife Patricia of Mt. Pleasant, her grandson, Barton Corvin and his wife Jackie, and her great grandchildren, Hannah and Aidan Corvin. She is also survived by her sisters, Flora McGinnis and her husband Bob, and Rita Griglak and her husband Martin, all of Connellsville. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Buffers in 1994, her sister, Antoinette Bednarik, and her brother Msgr. Joseph A. Pernatozzi. As per wishes of her family, there will be no hours of public visitation A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date to be announced.
