Obituary of Jeane Kathryn Eberhart Landy

Mount Pleasant, Jeane Kathryn Eberhart Landy, age 91 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Tuesday (1/7/14) in the Eichers Family Home, Normalville, PA. Mrs. Landy was born November 2, 1922 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel Solomon Eberhart. She was a lifelong and devoted member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God, where she sang in the Choir, and served as the Sunday School Secretary. Jeane was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School. She had been employed in the late 1940's, as a Manager for the Montgomery Ward Company and also as a Buyer for them, traveling by train to New York City. She spent her spare time reading the Bible, and enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles. Jeane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her loving family: her children; Sharon Rae Lentz and her husband James of Vienna, WV, Sandra Kaye Medsger and her husband Philip of North Manchester, IN, Raymond Edward Landy, Jr. and his wife Diane of RuffsDale, and Robb Ward Landy and his wife Bonnie of Normalville. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren; Stacy, Heath, Clint, Shelly, Erin, Lauren, Matthew, and Brina, her eleven Great Grandchildren and three Great Great Grandchildren. Jeane is also survived by her brother and sister, Blaine Loye Eberhart and his wife Gloria, and Beverly Scott, all of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, Jeane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Ray E. Landy, Sr. in Oct. of 2013, her daughter, Ronda Echard, two infant children, her granddaughter, Catrina Landy, and her brothers, Edward, Frank and Richard Eberhart. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 PM and Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Jeane will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Glenn E. Beatty officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlick Cemetery, Bullskin Township.
