Obituary of Helen Marie Kaminsky

Mt. Pleasant, Helen Marie Kaminsky, age 86 of Mt. Pleasant, PA, (Standard Shaft) died Wednesday (01/8/14) in St. Anne Home, Greensburg, PA. Miss Kaminsky was born August 23, 1927 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late John and Julia Opiela Kaminski. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and the former Transfiguration Parish and its Holy Rosary Society. Helen was a graduate of the former Hurst High School, and worked her entire life for the former Bell Telephone Company in Greensburg as an operator and Supervisor. Helen loved flowers and spending time in her flower garden. She also enjoyed polka music and loved to dance. Helen is survived by her loving family: her sisters, Margaret Gutierrez of Lexington, NC, Dorothy Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Urbanowski and her husband Richard of Austin, TX, and Julie King and her husband Raymond of Export, her sister-in-law, Kathryn Turik Kaminsky of Standard Shaft and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers and sister; John (Yulada Kostyo) Kaminsky, Thomas Kaminsky, Stanley (Dolores Dranzik) Kaminsky, Viola Kaminski and by her brother-in-law, Joseph Taylor. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 6 to 8 PM and Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held at the funeral home Monday at 9:30AM followed by Helen's Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held Sunday @3PM, and the Transfiguration Holy Rosary will recite the rosary at 6PM in the funeral home.
