Mrs. Kattera was the first bit of joy we had for reading. Our visits to the Norvelt library were always happy times. I remember that walk down the stairs to the basement level was always so exciting because Mrs. Kattera was so welcoming! She wasn't one to quiet us down and make us feel like the library wasn't an area for excitement. I remember her poster of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech hung near the door, and reading those important words each week. She was a very special lady, unlike any other librarian in my life. I am a teacher today, and I sincerely appreciate the love for reading she instilled in me. She will be missed!
