Obituary of Mary Ann Koval

Mount Pleasant, Mary Ann Koval, age 85 of Mount Pleasant, PA, formerly of Scottdale, died Tuesday (04/29/14) in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA. Miss Koval was born June 14, 1928 in Scottdale, PA, the daughter of the late Metro and Marie Kors Koval. She was a former member of St. Johns Byzantine Church in Scottdale, a current member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, and a member of the former Transfiguation Parish of Mt. Pleasant and its Rosary Society. Mary Ann was a 1946 graduate of the former Scottdale High School, and worked for the former Campbell Insurance Company and Westmore Insurance Company as an Insurance Agent. Mary Ann was a longtime resident of Scottdale, and currently has been a resident at the Harmon House of Mt. Pleasant where she enjoyed all the activities especially bingo. She was also an avid Pirate Fan. Mary Ann is survived by her loving family: her brother, Daniel Koval and his wife Dorothy of Mt. Pleasant and their children, her nephews and niece; Stephen Koval , Karen Koval and her husband Matt Mulvihill, and Mark Koval and his wife Angela ,and her great niece and nephews; Megan, Alex and Ryan Koval. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brother, William Koval. Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Saturday at 9:30AM in the funeral home, followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. John Byzantine Cemetery, Scottdale. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 3PM, and the Transfiguration Holy Rosary Society will pray the rosary at 6 PM.
