Obituary of Joseph Donald Caletri
Mount Pleasant, Joseph Donald Caletri, age 88 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Thursday (05/15/14) at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Caletri was born January 23, 1926 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Tony and Mary Catoi Caletri. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, where he served as an Usher for more than 50 years. Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Era with the Army Corps of Engineers, operating heavy equipment to build roads in Germany. He was employed for more than 38 years as a welder for General Motors, Fisher Body Division in Dravosburg. Joe enjoyed helping with church dinners, festivals, and bingo's at St. Pius and the V.F.W. and Norvelt Fire Departments. He was a member of the VFW Post 3368, the Mt. Pleasant Fireman's Club and the Hecla Sportsman's Club. Joe could always be seen riding on his quad with his dogs at his side. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his loving family: his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Ann Mullen Caletri, his children; Lynn Bulebush, Thomas J. Caletri, and James E. Caletri and his wife Cherie, all of Mt. Pleasant, his beloved grandchildren; Michael Bulebush and his wife Nancy, Jamie Caletri, Jennifer Caletri, Joseph Caletri and Raymond Westberg, and his great granddaughter, Briella Nicholson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: John, Paul, Ralph, and Nick Caletri and Louise Harbaugh, Angeline Costabile and Jean Isola.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 until 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.
A blessing service will be held Monday in the funeral home at 9:30AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant.
Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 and the VFW Post 3368 will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
