Obituary of Donald J. Molowski

Mount Pleasant, Donald J. Molowski, age 74 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died suddenly, on his birthday, Friday (9/19/14) at his home. Mr. Molowski was born September 19, 1940 in Wyano, PA, the son of the late Stanley and Anna Chirrup Molowski. He was a 1958 graduate of the former South Huntingdon High School. Don was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. He served in the United States Navy for nine years serving on four destroyers, including the USS Laffey, the USS Ingersoll and the USS Watts. He was employed for 30 years with the Westinghouse Corp. as a nuclear reactor service technician. Don was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Public Library, and participated in the YMCA Silver Sneakers Program. He enjoyed reading, and traveling with his beloved wife. He was a loving husband, and a devoted son and son-in-law. Don had a wonderful sense of humor. Don is survived by his loving family, his wife of 26 years, Patricia (Pat) Linkowski Molowski, his brother, Larry Molowski of Latrobe and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, including Skylar and Aidan Neubert, with whom he had a special relationship. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Molowski. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 6 until 9 PM and Monday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 9:30AM followed by Don's 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Tarentum, PA. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Monday @ 3PM. The family suggests memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or the Mt.
