Obituary of Elizabeth J. Sopko Lucotch

Mount Pleasant, Elizabeth J. Sopko Lucotch, age 81 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Wednesday (11/26/14) in Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe, PA. Mrs. Lucotch was born April 13, 1933 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Grec Sopko. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society. She had been employed as a seamstress for the former Amco Co of Mt. Pleasant. Elizabeth served as committee woman for the Third Ward in Mt. Pleasant, and was an active volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program. She enjoyed going to bingo and cooking special meals for her children and grandchildren, especially haluski and pierogie. Elizabeth was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her loving family: her children; Raymond M. Lucotch, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Vanderbilt, Karen A. Lucotch Newill and her husband Raymond of Mt. Pleasant, her beloved grandchildren: Ryan Lucotch and Lisa, Justin Lucotch and Laura, Eric Newill and Brandy, Brandon Newill and Elizabeth, Lindsay Grenda and Phillip, and Evan, Adam and Alyssa Bozzarelli. She will also be sadly missed by the "joys" of her life, her beloved great grandchildren; Giovanni, Josephine, Addison and Luca, and the two great grandchildren whose arrival she was so looking forward to. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond M. Lucotch Sr. in 1991, her daughter, Maria Lucotch Bozzarelli in 2007, and by her two brothers and five sisters. Elizabeth is the last surviving member of the Sopko family. In honoring Elizabeth's wishes, there will be no hours of public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend Elizabeth's Memorial Mass to be celebrated on Monday, December 1, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X RC Church, Summit and Silver Streets, Mt. Pleasant ,PA with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Private Inurnment will be in Visitation Parish Cemetery.
