Obituary of Ronald Dwight Prinkey

RuffsDale, Ronald D. Prinkey Sr., age 67 of RuffsDale, PA, died Saturday (02/14/15) in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville, PA. Mr. Prinkey was born July 22, 1947 in Hunker, PA, the son of the late Roy and Alberta Fulmer Prinkey. He was a graduate of Hempfield High School. Ron was a true outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed hunting small game. He was an avid sports fan who loved hockey games and enjoyed all sporting events. Ron loved to dance and listen to the oldies, but his favorite times were those spent with his family, and his faithful dog Mollie. Ron was a loving husband, father and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 24 years, Christine M. Weir Prinkey, his children; Tammy Prinkey Butler, of Strabane Township, Ronald Prinkey, Jr. of Greensburg, and Jeremiah Weir and his wife Sarah of Mt. Pleasant, his two grandchildren, and by his beloved pet, Mollie. Ron is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Roy, Bob, Joseph and Paul David Prinkey, Ginger Farrell and Kelly Lenhardt, his mother-in-law,Leona Bundy Weir, sisters-in-law; Trish Swiderski, Marie Goulding, Becky Prinkey, and Mary Lou, Leslie, and Sandy Weir and his brothers-in-law; Richard Gridler, Ronald Goulding, Jeff Lenhardt, and Frank, Fred, Greg and Jeff Weir, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Steck, his brothers, Raymond and David Prinkey, his father-in-law, Frank Weir, and his step father, Albert Sphon. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the funeral home, followed by his 1:30 PM Funeral Mass in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev.
