Obituary of Margaret Marie Smith

Mount Pleasant, Margaret Marie Stefl Smith, age 94 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Sunday (3/8/15) in the Amber House, Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Smith was born August 25, 1920 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Anton and Jennie Shebal Stefl. She was a longtime member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, and the Missionary Society. Margaret was graduate of the former Hurst High School. She was an active volunteer at Frick Hospital for many years, and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Garden Club. Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always had a smile for everyone. She is survived by her loving family: her grandson, Matthew S. Bryda and his wife Heather of Carlisle, her son in law, Richard Bryda of Bloomfield, NJ, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Smith in 2001, her daughter, Linda Smith Bryda in 2008, her great grandson, Matthew Bryda in 2008, and by her brothers and sisters; Anton, Stanley, William and Richard Stefl, Eleanore Smith, and Genevieve Boyer. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, PA. Funeral Services for Margaret will be held Thurdsay at 11:00 AM at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, Bridgeport, PA, with the Rev. Timothy Auer officiating.
