Obituary of Robert C. Bechtell

Mount Pleasant, Robert C. Bechtell, age 85 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died unexpectedly Friday (05/8/15) in Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mr. Bechtell was born October 15, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant Township, the son of the late Walter and Pauline Ruse Bechtell. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Bob was a graduate of the former Hurst High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Era. He served as the Club Steward for the Hecla Sportsmen's Club since 1971. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446, and the BPOE #777 of Scottdale. Bob enjoyed taking care of his yard, feeding his humming birds, watching Steeler Football, and his trips to Atlantic City and the Meadows. He always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Bob is survived by his loving family, his daughters: Donna M. Clark and her husband Rob of Warfordsburg, PA and Carol A. Christie of Mt. Pleasant, his beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Miller and Erik, Jessica Peck and Josh, Kayla Johnson and Matthew and Alexis Christie, and by his great grandchildren, Aiden Johnson and Keaton Miller. Bob is also survived by his sister, Mary Regina (Jean) King of Belpre, OH. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanore "El" Lessick Bechtell in 2009, and by his brother Walter and his sister, Eleanor Lipko. As per the wishes of Mr. Bechtell, there will be no hours of public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend Bob's Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Monday at 12:00 Noon in St. Pius X RC Church, Summit & Silver Streets., Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J.
