Obituary of Alton J. Kauffman

Mount Pleasant, Alton J. Kauffman, Jr., age 73 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday (6/8/15) in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Kauffman was born January 3, 1942 in Greensburg, PA, the son of the late Alton and Helen Lash Kauffman. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Scottdale. Alton was a 1960 graduate of Hempfield High School. He had worked for and retired from the former Robertshaw Control Company. Alton was a member of the East Huntingdon Volunteer Fire Department for over 47 years. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 47 years, Carol E. Pravlik Kauffman, his son, Richard A. Kauffman and his wife Tammy of Jefferson Hills, and his beloved granddaughters, Abigail and Addison Kauffman. Alton is also survived by his brother, Ronald L. Kauffman and his wife Mary Jane of Penn Hills, and his sister, Nancy M. Quist and her husband Robert of Greensburg. In addition to his parents, Alton was preceded in death by his sister, Bertha S. Watt. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Karen Thompson, officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
