Obituary of Carol E. Kauffman

Mount Pleasant, Carol E. Pravlik Kauffman, age 69 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Saturday (7/4/15) in Jefferson Hills Manor. Mrs. Kauffman was born September 16, 1945 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Francis and Kathryn Yezek Pravlik. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Scottdale. Carol was a 1963 graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School. She had been employed with the Central Tax Bureau in Youngwood and had also served as secretary for the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for many years. Carol was a member of the East Huntingdon Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she had served as Treasurer, and the former Slovak Club Ladies Auxiliary, where she had been past President, Secretary and Treasurer. Carol loved to bake, and had created and decorated beautiful wedding cakes for many couples in the Mount Pleasant area. She is survived by her loving family: her devoted son, Richard A. Kauffman and his wife Tammy of Jefferson Hills, and her beloved granddaughters, Abigail and Addison Kauffman. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Jean Pravlik Butts and her husband Kenneth of Owensdale. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Alton J. Kauffman less than one month ago on June 8, 2015. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Karen C. Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
