Obituary of Dorothy Bailey Gorecki

Mount Pleasant, Dorothy "Dossie" Bailey Gorecki, age 81 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Thursday (08/20/15) in the Excela-Health Latrobe Hospital. Mrs. Gorecki was born August 11, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Stanley and Magdeline Boshinski Bailey. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church and the former Transfiguration Parish. Prior to her retirement Dossie had been employed by Frick Hospital in the housekeeping department. She enjoyed shopping, baking, making haluski, and traveling with her family and friends. Her kindness and her wonderful smile will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Dossie will be sadly missed by her loving family: her husband of 62 years, Edward Gorecki, Sr., her children, Edward Gorecki and his wife Mary Kay, and Gary Gorecki and his wife Mary Ann, all of Mt. Pleasant, her beloved grandchildren, Kelli (Jeffery) Pastore, Amanda (Jared) Swierczynski, Lisa (Matt) Perks, Joe (Meagan) Gorecki and Leslie (Bryan) Baumann, and by her great grandchildren; Tyler, Maggie, Carson, Haleigh, Lexi, and Braxton, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dossie was preceded in death by her brothers; Stanley, Edward, Walter, Bernard, Leonard and Donald Bailey, and by her sisters, Helen Knizner, and Margaret Gonofsky. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 1 until 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Monday at 9:30AM in the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held Sunday at 3PM in the funeral home.
