Obituary of Geneva V. Booker

Mount Pleasant, Geneva V. "Sis" Smitley Booker, age 80 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Thursday (10/8/15) in the South Connellsville Personal Care Home, Connellsville, PA. Mrs. Booker was born December 19, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late William "Pruney" and Ethel Whitehair Smitley. She was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church and had also attended the Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren. Sis attended the former Ramsay High School. She was a life member of the Bullskin Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she served for more than 30 years as treasurer. Sis was an avid bingo player. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving family: her children; Barry A. Booker of Mt. Pleasant, and Russell L. Booker and his wife Heidi of Scottdale, and by her grandchildren, Matthew Booker and Karlee Booker. Sis is also survived by her sister, Yvonne Demagall of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, Sis was preceded in death by her husband, Denver L. Booker in 2006, and by her brother, Jack Smitley, Sr. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Sis will be held Sunday at 1:30 PM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Timothy Auer officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
