Obituary of Karen Jean Christie

Mount Pleasant, Karen Jean Christie, age 69 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Saturday (10/10/15) in Excela Heatlh- Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Ms. Christie was born September 26, 1946 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late George and Gloria Harkins Christie. She was a member of the Reunion Presbyterian Church. Karen was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School and the Washington Hospital School of Nursing. She was a caring and compassionate nurse who worked for various Hospitals and Nursing Homes in the Westmoreland County area, and provided private nursing care to many area residents. She was an avid reader, loved watching movies, enjoyed nature, and was a true animal lover, especially horses. Karen was very kind, thoughtful and dedicated; A loyal friend, with a huge heart and a great sense of humor, who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is survived by her devoted sister, Judy Tucci and her husband Mark of Mt. Pleasant. Karen will also be greatly missed by her pets, Moochie, More and Tink. The family is suggesting Memorial Contributions may be made to Animal Friends of Westmoreland County, or to their local Humane Society, in Memory of Karen J. Christie. In honoring Karen's request, there will be no hours of public visitation or service. Her Inurnment will be private.
