Obituary of Antonina "Nina" (Draga`) Zodda

Antonina "Nina"  (Draga')  Zodda , age 97 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died peacefully, Monday, June 5, 2017 at the residence of her loving and devoted daughter.

Mrs. Zodda was born December 19, 1919 in Pace Del Mela ,Sicily, Italy, the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Grazia Grimaldi Draga`. She attended St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Nina loved to cook for her family, and for everyone in the neighborhood. Her delicious meals and baked goods will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of sharing them with her. Nina was a loving wife, Mother and Grandmother. Her greatest joy in life came from taking care of her family.

Nina will be sadly missed by her loving family: her daughter, Angela Parisi and her husband Carmen of Mt. Pleasant, her son ,Giuseppe "Joe" Zodda and his wife Jadwiga of Cleveland, OH, and by her beloved grandchildren; Giovanni Parisi of Denver CO, Antonio Parisi and his wife Nikki of Arlington, VA, and Antonio Zodda and Damian Zodda, both of Cleveland, OH. Antonina is also survived by her sister, Maria Draga` of Pace Del Mela, Sicily, Italy, and by her loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, especially Mary Parisi of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Antonino Zodda in 1963, by her infant brother, Giovanni Draga`, and by her sisters, Domenica and Marta Draga`.

Family and friends will be received Saturday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.

A blessing service will be held immediately following visitation at 11:30AM at the funeral home followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant.
