Obituary of Raymond Polakovsky

Raymond Polakovsky , age 77 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Saturday ,June 17, 2017 in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA.

Mr. Polakovsky was born April 9, 1940 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Michael and Anna Bankovich Polakovsky.

He was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, and it's Rosary Society. Ray was a graduate of the former Hurst High School. Throughout his life, he had been employed by Bryce Brothers Glass, Lenox, Volkswagen in New Stanton and by the Mount Pleasant School systems maintenance department. He was also a member of the United States National Guard for many years. Ray had a very special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and belonged to many rosary prayer groups and also continued his love of the rosary while at the Harmon House. He was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, and looked forward to watching their games. Ray is survived by his sister, Bernadine Gross of Tarrs, his aister-in-law, Helen Polakovsky, and by his niece, who was also his goddaughter and care-giver, Lou Ann Lauffer and her husband Kevin, along with many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Andrew, Michael and John, his sisters; Mary Ruzbacky, Ann Turi, Bertha Polakovsky, Irene Stout and Eve and Elizabeth. The family would like to thank the staff of Amedysis Hospice Care and the staff at the Harmon House for all the wonderful care they provided Ray during his stay.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant.

A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 9:30AM at the funeral home, followed by Ray's Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Bob Lubic and the Rev. Gerry Juarez as con-celebrants.
