Obituary of Richard Anthony Rose

Richard A. Rose, age 89 of Mount Pleasant, PA, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 24, 2017 at Upper Chesapeake Hospital, Bel Air, MD. He was born December 20, 1927 in Tarrs, PA, the son of the late Michael and Maria (Galderese) Rose. Mr. Rose was a member of St.Pius X Parish of Mount Pleasant. He attended East Huntington High School. Richard was a World War II era veteran, proudly serving with Squadron "A" of the 248th Army Air Force Base Unit. Following honorable discharge from military service, he worked for over 40 years at the Robertshaw Controls in New Stanton, PA as an electroplater before his retirement. Richard was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all and will be dearly missed. To those of us who knew him, he was known to always be there to help family and friends with whatever they needed. Richard loved draft beer, cigars, horse racing, dog racing, going to casinos, deer hunting, small game hunting, recycling aluminum cans, working in his garden, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching Steelers football and Pirates baseball even when they lost. Richard is survived by his beloved sons: Daniel Rose, John Rose, and Paul Rose. He also leaves behind eight beautiful grandchildren; Julianna, Mikayla, Ava, Emily, Natalie, Bryan, Patrick, and Abigail. Richard is also survived by his brothers; Joseph Rose Sr., Louis Rose, and Michael Rose Jr., daughters-in-law, Heather Rose, Amy Rose and Kris Rose, and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Juanita Louise (Skowronek) Rose in 2017, and by his brother, Patsy R. Rose in 2012. Family and friends will be received Saturday, December 16, 2017 from Noon until 2 pm, the time of Richards' Funeral Service, at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mt. Pleasant, PA.
